When Henry VIII stopped for a brew in the King's Head while on the way to Hampton Court. The rest of the nobles drank at the Eight Bells, the neighboring bar. The flunkies, one supposes, were served out back. Today, it's a single pub that is worth the visit. Tom Sage, the manager, has a lot of ales and bottled Belgian beer. He's also got some interesting stories about a Tudor lady in the basement (A ghost).
