Roger Horton runs this solid club that's been active on Soho's Oxford Street since the swing days of WW II. Today, the club is quite eclectic with a mix of British and mostly European jazz bands. More than most, it looks at the whole jazz tradition. So check Time Out or call ahead to match your night with your tastes. It's not that far from Ronnie Scott's and several other clubs for those who like to cruise jazz bars.
Swing by early and check the action that seems a bit more serious during the week than on weekends when you sometimes get that 'date central' feeling where interest seems focused across tiny tables rather than on the music. Open Monday through Friday 20:30 -3:00, Saturday 19:30 pm-1:00, Sunday 19:30-23:30. Nearest Underground: Tottenham Court Rd or Oxford Circus
